Terms of Service

1. The service

eSea Vault is a tool that helps maritime professionals store documents, track certificate expiry dates, and share verified documents with organisations.

eSea Vault is a document-management service only. We are not a government authority and do not issue Seaman's Books, certificates, or other official maritime documents.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure.

You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the documents and data you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the Service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and share the documents you add.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including uploading unlawful content, infringing the rights of others, attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the Service, or using it to deceive or defraud.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

5. Organisation access

If you join an organisation using an organisation code or invitation, the documents you choose to share with that organisation will be visible to its authorised users. You control which documents you share.

6. Compliance is your responsibility

eSea Vault helps you keep track of your documents and expiry dates, but you remain solely responsible for your own regulatory compliance, including the validity of your certificates and Seaman's Book. The Service does not constitute legal, regulatory, or compliance advice.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Seaman Solutions and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or content except as needed to use the Service.

8. Third-party services

The Service may be distributed through app stores and may rely on third-party providers. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that stored documents will always be available.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Seaman Solutions will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or where required by law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Seaman Solutions is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
